A release upgrade is a good time to actually upgrade the architecture of the site itself and to decide if you really need to go on with all the installed modules. Perhaps some of them have been ported to the core; perhaps some of them have more attractive alternatives or can be implemented using simpler building blocks of your own. For example, in my case, I decide to eliminate the project and project issue modules in favor of the content types and views modules-based solution that was developed in an earlier chapter for the development documentation for the On-Line Literary Workshop site.
